Sharepoint!?

Sharepoint!?

This is my first time posting in here and may not get a reply...hoping not but you never know.
As new IT/System analyst for a Third Party Servicing Company that is growing exponentially, we are now "killing" all our access jobs and moving them to a sharepoint site. Any idea why are company shifting away from access (that i don't like by the way).
Anyone who is a sharepoint expert?  hmm

@Barakatou
There are lost of reasons why companies migrate to SharePoint (Especially if it is a medium to big size company). The major problem with Microsoft Access is scalability at some point it just becomes a dog and obsolete.
SharePoint has many many advantages from being a collaborative platform for a company staff, to being a robust Intranet application.
It comes with built in features that most companies won't be to live without:
Easy & fast website provisioning
Out of the box Security integrating with Active Directory
Document management system
Workflow
Sits on Top of the Microsoft .NET Framework
Development platform
Business Intelligence
Enterprise Search
Etc.

If I could give you an advice the best thing you can do as an IT professional with your background is to adopt SharePoint and get training on it. SharePoint Developer, Administrator, Designer and analyst are some of the most paid IT professional in the Microsoft IT community
